Competition is the one thing that gets everyone fired up inside this household. I wouldn’t call most of us overly competitive in general, but when it comes to going up against each other it’s a whole different story. With that in mind we introduce The 15 Challenge: Raczilla vs. MaddenWidow weight loss competition.
MaddenWidow and I both see 15 lbs as a reasonable weight loss goal for ourselves. I’m in fairly decent shape but know I could drop a little more to help with some of my extra-curricular activities (boxing and running mostly) and she’d just like to get a bit more fit after what was a pretty good holiday binge for the both of us.
The Details
The format is straightforward. The first of us to lose 15 pounds first wins the competition. We’ll start today and post regular updates on how the competition is going. Here’s our starting info:
raczilla -15 lbs to go ( currently 165 lbs)
MaddenWidow -15 lbs to go (current weight is a mystery to me as our coach isn’t that comfortable to risk finding out)
The Stakes
We need your help! A real competition needs some sort of stakes. We talked about it and didn’t have a great idea so we thought it might be fun to crowdsource that.
Should the loser have to do something humiliating? Should the winner earn some sort of favor? Do we just roll with a trophy or something like that? Let us know what you think in the comments and we’ll choose the stakes in our next post.
Oh yeah, we’re using the hashtag #15Challenge on Twitter to discuss this, so if you see us reference that you’ll know what’s up.
During the Holiday break we visited my mom in Gettysburg. We were fortunate to be there at at time when there was several inches of snow on the ground, so we headed over to Seminary Ridge and got out sled on.
Splatterbug, Hacksaw, and Maddenwidow all tried to sled off a small jump on the hill. Who do you think had the best jump?
Today, after nearly twelve years of marriage we bought our first grill. It’s one of those things we’ve talked about for some time and finally pulled the trigger on.
The best part our last minute impulse to make this move is that we got a Home Depot floor model so we didn’t have to take the time to put the whole thing together before enjoying some delicious burgers and hotdogs.
Side Note: It’s literally been months since I had a cheeseburger and damn did it taste good.
This last few days I’ve been playing the DayZ mod for ArmA II after seeing it highlighted in this article on Kotaku. There are several zombie fans in the Kinsler household and we’ve taken plenty of time to discuss the best possible strategy for surviving the zombie apocalypse. In DayZ I’ve had the opportunity to put my strategies to the test. Here are some cool things I’ve experienced so far.
