American Psycho and 28 Days Later are on my list, too. The Shining it excellent, too. My absolute favorite is and always will be An American Werewolf in London. Second to that is The Lost Boys. Still really into Asian horror right now but there are only so many movies with long, dark haired little girls I can take haha Ooooh great choices. There are elements of that movie I really like (blood river down a hallway, yes!) and some things I don't like (what's with the ending?!). I kind of liked the TV mini-series they did in the late 90's a bit better because it was more faithful to the book. At the same time it was lacking because it was made for network TV. I'm curious about the Nightmare on Elm Street remake, but I'm not getting my hopes up too much. It's going to be so hard to replace a guy like Robert Englund because he's such an iconic figure. In a lot of ways, he IS the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. On the other hand I'm rooting for Jack Earl Haley. He's a talented actor and the kind of guy you could see in that role if you had no pre-existing knowledge of the franchise. In general though, kind of tired of remakes of classic horror movies and series. Let's get something new out there! I'm always torn on The Shining. Pretty good horror flick with gore, suspense, and a pretty well thought out plot. The rest of the franchise has been forgettable, but that first one is a classic IMO.
